Position: Sale Clerk Although you will be hired as an overall Grocery Clerk, You will be placed in one of the following positions upon arrival to Stop and Shop: Cashier, Deli Clerk, Coffee Shop, Flower Clerk, Grocery. You may also be asked to work in any of these departments as needed.

Sales Clerk – Wait on customers by taking their orders and filling their orders. Work with US currency. Help with food preparation. Clean up and help restock products in the store.

***Please note that you will be working in air conditioned or refrigerated environments, which can be cold. Please be prepared to wear extra layers of clothing if you get cold easily.

REQUIRED DUTIES:
Exact duties will be determined by the position you are placed in upon arrival.
Employment Conditions:

Advanced English skills for interacting with customers.
Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Union Dues and Initiation Fee-$20.60 per week after first 30 days of employment.
Uniform –Uniforms will be provided by your employer and will consist of a shirt, cap, apron, and name badge.
Social Security Number – Approximately seven days after you check into the program you will apply for a social security card. You will be able to work before you receive your card.
